UDI Wizard: Why are some items disabled?

If you are using the UDI Wizard with MDT 2012 and SCCM 2012 Integration you might run into an issue where you cannot add SCCM Applications to the “Install Programs” Dialog.

This can be commonly caused by the following:

Your SCCM Applications are not Deployed to the Collection you have defined in the UDI Wizard’s “Configuration Manager” Settings found here:

Make sure you modify the Collection to a collection that actually has Applications targeted. You can also create a dummy collection in SCCM 2012 and deploy all Applications you want to appear in UDI to it. If you use the “All Systems” Collection you can leave this unchanged, but I would not recommend this :)

Your Applications are not enabled for an Installation from an “Install Applications” Task Sequence step without beeing actually deployed.

To enable your Applications for an Installation from out of a Task Sequence do the following:

Right click the Application in SCCM 2012 and select Properties

Select the Ckeckbox shown below to enable the Application for Installation in an Install Applications Task Sequence Step

Check back with UDI to verify the Application is now selectable
